The Imperial Belhorizonian Army
With 1,000,000 active soldiers; complemented by 1,000,000 in reserves; the IBA makes up it's technology deficiency vis-a-vis the Navy and Airforce with sheer number. Nonetheless, the Imperial troops are armed with highly modular technology that can rival any nation's; paired with their top-notch training. Due to political issues, only residents of the Eastern state are permitted to enlist.
Due to clearance levels; details of specific Divisions will remain classified. The Belhorizonian Army proudly boasts it's adoption of the Brigade Combat Team organizational design; in which each brigade can sustain operations independently from it's parent Division. On this page; find the types of companies and units that one can find within a Brigade Combat team. Note: For reasons of simplicity; only non-classified and common weapons will be listed here. Other types of weapons and vehicles may be used depending on circumstance. |
Non-Armored Companies
Headquarters Company
Found in every Brigade Combat Team (BCT); these companies are composed of commissioned and non-comissioned officers tasked with managing the brigade, maintaining discipline and training, upholding troop morale, and guaranteeing the success of the mission.
Each Headquarters must be composed of:
The motorized Headquarters Company has access to a modified modular Haur-3, fitted for the Command role. |
Rifle CompanyThe backbone of the IBA; the Rifle Company makes up the chaff of every BCT. Armed with the top-notch Palmiers-16 Modular Automatic weapon, the standard assault weapon of the entire armed forces; the troops can adapt to almost any situation; with the same gun they've used and trained with since they joined up. Truly; a feat of Belhorizonian technology.
Alongside their weapon of choice, soldiers; no matter the company, can rely on their side-arm of choice, the BF-1. Combining reliability, and speed; this weapon allows the troops to get up close and deadly. The motorized Rifle Company rides the highly-modular Haur-3 APC and the Scout-BV IFV ; that can be adapted to different support roles; depending in the company. The BG-33 also serves as an MRAP; in times of need. |
Weapons CompanyThe Weapons company; found in virtually every BCT; has the main role to provide support to the Rifle Company, in areas that their weaponry cannot cover. Composed of troops with advanced training under their belt, members of the Weapons Company make use of the anti-air BA-24 , the anti-material Palmiers X109 , and the B20 mortar installation.
Complementing the Rifle Company's rudimentary anti-armor and anti-air capabilities; the coupling of those two companies together guarantees the preparedness for any attack. The motorized weapons company also rides the highly-modular Haur-3; mostly in the, fire support, Mortar carrier, anti-tank, anti-air, and armored recovery variants. |
Reconnaissance CompanyStealth or speed. Never both. The Land-based reconnaissance company, to solve this dilemma, has adapted to undertaking rapid mounted missions, or stealthy unmounted missions. Composed of hand-picked elements selected from existing Rifle and Weapons Companies, members of the Reconnaissance company are trained in a plethora of skills that teach self-sufficiency, speed, and caution.
With the Eagle Patrol Vehicle, the Boshnosh M-ATV and Boshnosh Light Tactical Vehicle ; the Recon elements are in the possession of highly versatile, secure and rapid vehicles; if need be. The armored reconnaissance company has access to the modular Recon and NBC Recon variant of the Scout-BV IFV. |
Towed Artillery CompanyTowed artillery is not a thing of the past in the IBA. Versatile, lightweight, digital, and logistically simple; the standard issue B777A2 Lightweight Artillery can be airlifted or driven into the field of battle with relative ease. Coupled with a highly trained targeting crew, on the field and in headquarters; the Towed artillery companies spell death from above.
The Artillery company possesses it's own modified covered flatbed BG-33 to act as a tow, and supply truck. The IBA is currently developing new types of 155mm shells to go with the B777A2; ranging from incendiary shells, to smoke and anti-personnel. The motorized unit has access to the mobile gun variant of the Haur-3. |
Combat Engineer CompanyHandpicked from the Weapons and Rifle companies; Combat Engineers are trained in maintaining key infrastructure, erecting new ones, clearing obstacles and building obstacles. Their vehicle of choice is a highly modified BG-33 with a mine-clearing arm installed at the front.
In addition to their standard field roles, Combat Engineers are provided with additional technical training in their down-time, to better serve their unit. After the age of retirement, they will use those new-found skills in an Imperial Company. Motorized companies have access to the engineering variant of the Haur-3 and Scout-BV. Other recovery, mine-clearing, terraforming, crane and bridge-layer vehicles are available. |
Signal CompanyAn essential part of every deployment, the signal company provides high-definition audiovisual communication to all elements of the IBA. Using the Belhorizonian Space Agency's satellites, in addition to land based receivers; the Signal Companies make sure that orders are broadcast in a secure, encrypted timely manner. It also aggregates and collects the input from helmet-cams, satellites, and recon teams on the field in real-time, making sure that no piece of information is overlooked. It also uses the BN/TPS-75 to scan for aircraft. It can be mounted on a modified Haur-3.
Working in close coordination with the Intelligence company for the above task, the Signals company is also geared to jam enemy communications. |
Military Intelligence CompanyTasked with collecting, analyzing, aggregating, reporting and acting on intelligence, the Intelligence Company works closely with the Signals Company and the Imperial Intelligence Services. (IIS).
Also tasked with electronic warfare, members of the Intelligence company double as proponents of cyber warfare. The Intelligence Company is provided with land and air drones to undertake reconnaissance activity. Motorized versions are provided the PMRS version of the Scout-BV IFV. |
Logistics CompanyThe Logistics Company of the Land Forces; in coordination with the Airforce and Navy; form the backbone of all military activities. All types of supplies are provided to Belhorizonian troops by the Logistics Companies; which use a modified variant of the BG-33, the Boshnosh MTT, Bosnosh M120 and the B915A5 semi-hauler.
The supplies provided include, but are not limited to: Rations, Petroleum/Oil/Lubricants, Expendables, Construction material, Ammunition, personal items, Heavy machinery and end items, Medical material, repair parts and non-military supplies. They also provide field maintenance services; maintaining the tip-top quality of military installations. |
Medical CompanyWith MEDEVAC variants of the BG-33 and Haur-3; no obstacle can top the Medical Company from treating and recovering fallen comrades. Trained in combating biological, chemical, and pathological hazards; members of the medical company maintain health levels provided by the Logistics' canteen, and around the base. In addition to their MEDEVAC duties, the Medical Company preserves the lives of civilians caught in the field of battle; and is geared to arrange emergency medical base evacuations.
Some Medical units, specially Medical Doctors serving at base, have the honor of tending to the Imperial Family; shall their COs deem it appropriate. |
Armored Units
Main Battle Tank: Eagle 2A7Combining speed, protection, fire power, technology, and a well-trained crew; the Eagle 2A7 clears the battlefield without firing a shot; due it's fear-stoking presence.
Usually deployed alongside infantry and air support; the Eagle 2A7 packs the punch, and shock and awe, the the IBA prides itself with. Research is currently going into creating a new, more responsive and versatile auto-loader. Until then, a fourth crew member will act as the loader. |
Infantry Fighting Vehicle: Scout BVThe Scout-BV, used by motorized infantry as their IFV of choice; also makes its appearances independently from infantry; doubling as a light tank when need be. Unlike the Haur-3; which is mostly used by infantry, the Scout-BVs can fend for themselves in groups; with minimal infantry support.
It is also available in a flurry of variants, and it is set to fully replace the Haur-3 eventually. The Scout also boasts an amphibious capacity. |
Armored Personnel Carrier: Haur-3The motorized transporter and mobile base of choice for most companies; the Haur-3 boasts a highly modular design; allowing it to serve a variety of purposes; including and not limited to:
|
Self Propelled ArtilleryBoasting a tracked vehicle; and a wheeled vehicle; the selection for propelled artillery guarantees that no operational theater will be left without quick, swift and accurate artillery support. Armed with high-precision rounds, these units end the battle before it even begins.
In the tracked category comes the 2B35; which boasts two superimposed artillery pieces. A rocket-launching variant is also in service; under the guise of the B270 MLRS. And the lighter wheeled propelled gun is the Dexter. |
Anti-Air Gun: 50B6The 50B6 is a highly mobile anti-air system; positioned as one step better than the anti-air variant of the Haur-3. The 50B6; whether in the presence or absence of other anti-air guns; is an essential part of every deployment; clearing out unfriendly skies with it's medium range SAMs. Equipped with top-notch technology, a high rate of fire, and a professional crew; no enemy aircraft would dare risk an encounter with this beast.
Long range deployed static variants are available. |
Self-Propelled Tank Destroyer: 2B25The 2B25 is mainly a tank destroyer; but also doubles as a light IFV. Able to be airdropped into the field of battle; the 2B25 makes up lack in armor with speed, versatility, and quick and deadly sting.
Studies are ongoing into optimizing existing armor while maintaining it's transportation versatility. |
RobotsIn a bid to preserve the glorious Imperial troops from undertaking Menial tasks; the Imperial Research department has developed a plethora of robots to minimize human casualties.
The Riphammer is one such robot; a remotely driven track vehicle that can carry remote weaponry on it's back; or act as a hauler; thus saving time, money, and human lives. A smaller version is the MULE; which is designed to haul different types of cargo silently and inconspicuously to front line troops. Finally, the ANDRES; which enables troops to disable bombs and explosive devices from a distance. |
Helicopters (IBA and IBAF)
Attack HelicoptersThe BAL ICH serves as the IBA's main land-based combat helicopter. Sporting high-end technology, excellent mobility and an extended and rapid striking capacity, the BAL ICH is necessary to any anti-armor maneuvers. To complement the BAL, is the newly rolled out, multi-purpose, light attack helicopter; the Malaheem B-97. Armed with three sets of four-armed rotors, the B-97 is faster and more versatile than the BAL; and is set to replace it eventually.
|
Transport HelicoptersTo serve the highly versatile needs of the navy, land force, and air force; multiple models of transport helicopters have been adopted. The main work-horse is the BNH90; which provides most combat insertions and evacuations.
However; the BOSPREY also exists for heavy lifting in zones less susceptible to anti-air fire; as well as for high-altitude flights. It's proven a staple land-navy air link; carrying supplies from fleets with relative ease. Finally, a rotary wing UAV is in service; which will be covered in a section below. |
Unmanned Aerial VehiclesBoasting both, fixed wing and rotor-wing Unmanned drones; expensive human lives and choppers have been retreating from needless risk with every new invention.
The BQ-18 combines the advantage of rotor-wing flight to the remote-control of an Unmanned vehicle. Offering precision strike and detailed scouting opportunities, long gone are the days of the manned aerial scout mission. In the fixed-wing category, the Predator C is the main soul-gatherer; however it is slowly being phased out in favor of the more powerful, stealth oriented BerON. |
